The steaks used to be tender enough to shred with a couple of forks....Not anymore...I have to cut the meat with a knife....Did you change cuts of beef? Still love the gravy that comes with it....

Received this as a gift while recovering from surgery, what a treat. Smelled amazing while cooking and was so tender I could cut it with a fork!

I have tried multiple meals from What A Crock and everything has been absolutely delicious. The flavor profiles are spot on, the portions are hearty and the preparation is simplistic. These are my types of meals. I also love that these meals are natural with no added preservatives. This is a big thing for trying to provide my family with healthier options and cutting out the fast food. I cannot recommend What A Crock Meals enough.

Thawed the buttermilk steak meal and cut the meat into four pieces. Cooked on high in crockpot for one hour and then on low for another 7 hours. Meat was melt-in-your-mouth tender and gravy was delicious. Purchased serving for one but got three meals from it. One was as open-face sandwich on French bread, a second one over flat noodles, and the third one on mashed potatoes. A favorite meal now. Very versatile.

I used the Instant Pot method and was left with a hunk of meat. I guess I expected it to shred easily. It sounds like that is not the care even if its slow cooked. Not a problem, just plan a little extra time to thinly slice the meat. The flavor is amazing. I served it on kaiser rolls toped with provolone and quickly broiled. Excellent. I will definitely order again.

The flavor of this is amazing! I agree with others saying it was tough. I cut the meat up after about 8 hours and let it cook another hour. It was perfect and tender that way! What a crock has saved me so much time in the kitchen lately. I’m addicted!

For my first meal from my first order I tried the Au Jus Buttermilk Steak. The Jus was nicely seasoned and flavorful and the hunk of beef was tender. I had it as a meal with mashed potatoes instead of a sandwich. I'm looking forward to trying the other items that I ordered.

I slice this thinly and serve next to WAC garlic potatoes and the au jus is delish!

Comfort food!

It was just okay... could have been amazing with a better cut of beef. We followed the directions to the tee but the meat was dry and tough. I ended up following a previous reviewer's advice and sliced the beef thinly then added it back to the slow cooker to sort of re-hydrate a bit. We served it over the garlic mashed potatoes (which were delicious). We purchased 10 portions for a family meal so this was an expensive miss.

Oh my, that gravy filled the whole house with the most amazing smell. The guys were drooling and kept asking - Is it ready yet? all day! So tender and delicious. I toasted hoagie rolls melted sliced Provolone cheese and put the steak and a little gravy on. Then put gravy in little bowls and we dunked the sandwiches as we took bites. Man, that was amazing. Made a side of french fries and poured a little gravy over them too. YUM! Thank you for another Family Favorite for our house!

While I was cooking this it smelled pretty good, so I couldn't wait to try it. After waiting all day and following all directions it was finally dinner time. I checked the meat in the crockpot and it was still very tough. Too tough to eat by itself or serve as a dinner entree and too dry. I wasn't at all thrilled with the texture. I decided I would need to thinly slice or shave the meat and go ahead and make sandwiches and serve them like a French dip with the au jus on the side to remedy the dryness. Once my family tasted this dish it almost didn't matter how tough the meat was, it was delicious! Even my grandmother raved about it and she is pretty picky with food. She said it was the best sandwhich she ever tasted (eventhough the meat was tough haha). So eventhough the actual meat was a miss, the overall taste of the au jus almost totally made up for it. We will likely order this again and hope the meat is more tender and juicy next time.

This is our family's fave WAC meal. The meat is high quality and it is cooked whole then you slice it. We had it on sandwiches as the tip states but would be good on its own. It's a must order for us every order!

I have ordered several times and absolutely love this company and their service. I have tried many different things and not been disappointed BUT I have made AU JUS BUTTERMILK STEAK must buy with every order. When I come home and smell the deliciousness that has filled my home, I just smile and know I going to have a fabulous dinner! I also love love that I can make an extra sandwich of the left overs for lunch the next day, and it is equally as delicious cold.

Everything I have ordered from this company has been delicious! I was a little nervous about all of the meals being slow cooker meals but the the taste and texture of each meal is unique and tasty.

I have always cooked in the crockpot but this company had not only made planning dinner easier but the meals are way better than most of what I have made in the past. The steak sandwiches where outstanding! I can't wait to have my next shipment of meals delivered the crockpot is ready and waiting!

This is the first meal I have tried out of my order and I am impressed! I don't know if I would call it a steak sandwich I think it more like a roast beef sandwich but no matter what you call it, its great! I wanted to drink the sauce! Make sure you use a ladle or spoon to add the sauce to the sandwich. If this is how all the meals taste I will be ordering a meal kit every week!
