Do I need a slow cooker to cook your meals?

A slow cooker is not required to cook or enjoy our meals. Nearly all of our meals can be cooked easily using a variety of alternative methods:

How many people does a meal feed?

Our meals are sold by the portion.

One portion is built to feed a single person with a hearty appetite or two people with lighter appetites. Our portions have an average total weight of roughly one and a half pounds.

What size slow cooker should I use?
  • 1 Portion meals, soups, and dips cook best in a 2 to 3 quart slow cooker.

  • 2 Portions can cook in a 3 to 4.5 quart slow cooker. A 4 quart is the optimal size.

  • 3 Portions can cook in a 4 to 6 quart slow cooker. A 5 quart is the optimal size.

  • 4 Portions can cook in a 5 to 7 quart slow cooker A 6 quart is the optimal size.

  • 5 Portions can cook in a 6 to 8 quart slow cooker. A 7 quart is the optimal size.
Why are your cook times in ranges?

The suggested cook times for our meals are provided in a range to accommodate folks who leave home and let their slow cooker run while they're gone. If a meal says that it can be cooked from 4-12 hours, for example, the minimum cook time is 4 hours and the maximum time you should leave the meal in your slow cooker is 12 hours.

Can I use my microwave to heat up a meal?

You cannot use a microwave to cook our meals. Many of our meals are only partially cooked before they are shipped to you in order to keep them as fresh as possible. When you cook one of our meals, you are not simply reheating a frozen dinner, you are cooking it through for the first time.

Microwaves will not cook any meat thoroughly enough to ensure it's safe for you and your family to eat.

Do meals need to be thawed before cooking?

No, thawing your meals is not necessary. All of our meals can be cooked from frozen following their normal cooking instructions.

How long will it take to receive my order?

Typically, it takes 1-4 business days to receive your order. Delivery time is based on delivery address and time of purchase. View our shipping map here and expected delivery dates below for a more detailed estimate on delivery time.

Do you offer free shipping?

Yes! We offer free shipping to most states with an order subtotal of $99+ and discounted shipping to most states with an order subtotal of $60+. We highly recommend reaching a subtotal of at least $60 to significantly save on shipping.

My order arrived thawed or damaged. What to do?

If your order arrived fully thawed or with any signs of damage, we sincerely apologize.

Please take photos of the damage and contact our support team immediately, either via chat, phone at 484-474-0451, or via email at help@whatacrockmeals.com. We will do anything we can to rectify the situation as soon as possible.

Please note - it is normal for packages to arrive with the allotted dry ice fully evaporated. It is not normal for packages to arrive fully thawed.

Meals that arrive with their edges slightly thawed but their centers still frozen solid are safe to eat and should be placed in your freezer immediately.

How are your meals shipped?

Our meals are shipped frozen in packages containing insulated padding and dry ice to ensure a safe delivery.

Orders containing a slow cooker will ship with the slow cooker contained in the same package as the meals, but separated from the dry ice.

Meals should be stored in the freezer upon receipt and can be cooked either from frozen or thawed - cooking instructions will remain the same either way.

How do I select a delivery date?

To request a specific delivery date, please type your preferred delivery date in the "Request a specific delivery date" field in the shopping cart.

Our team will review the request and will contact you if the requested date is not feasible or if there are any other issues.

Please note that we are unable to have any package deliver on a Sunday, Monday, or holiday.

Gifts

How do I add a gift message to my order?

There are two ways to add a gift message to your order - on a product's page, or in the shopping cart.

Product Page:

  1. Navigate to one of the products you'd like to send as a gift
  2. Click "Add a gift message" and enter the recipient's information. When you're happy with your message, click "Save message".
  3. The product will automatically be added to your shopping cart with the gift message attached

Shopping Cart:

  1. Add any products you'd like to send as a gift to your shopping cart
  2. Click "Add a gift message" and enter the recipient's information. When you're happy with your message, click "Save message".
  3. The gift message will automatically be added to your order
How do I check the balance of a gift card?

To check the balance of a gift card, please contact us via chat, via phone at 484-474-0451, or via email at help@whatacrockmeals.com.

Our support team will be happy to assist you in checking the balance of your gift card.

I purchased a digital gift card but cannot find it. What to do?

Digital Gift Cards are sent to either the email address you enter at checkout, or to a specified recipient's email address when selected. Please check your spam folder and/or search for a message from "What a Crock Meals" if you cannot find it.

Subscriptions

How do I choose new meals for my subscription?

Selecting new meals for your subscription is easy.

  1. Log in to your whatacrock.com account
  2. Click on "Subscriptions" and "Manage Subscription"
  3. In the Customer Portal, you will be able to add and/or remove portions from meals you'd like to receive. Click the + or - on any given meal to assign or retract a portion. When you're satisfied with your selections, click "Save".
  4. That's it!

Please note that any changes to your meal selections must be saved before 11:59 PM EST on the date before your next charge is set to process. For example, if your next charge date is December 9th, changes must be saved by December 8th at 11:59 PM EST.

If you need to make changes after an order has been processed, please contact our support team. Changes may not be made after the order has shipped.

Is a subscription required to order meals?

No, a subscription is not required to order meals from us.

If you want to try our meals without a subscription, you can place a one-time order and choose the individual meals you'd like, or you can send one of our curated Gift Boxes as to someone. No commitment is required for either option.

Subscriptions are a great way to save on each order - you can receive meals for up to 20% cheaper than their standard price when you subscribe.

How do I make changes to my subscription?

Select a new delivery date or delay a shipment:

  1. Log in to your whatacrock.com account
  2. Click on "Subscriptions" and "Manage Subscription"
  3. Click "Next Charge Date" and select a new date you'd prefer to be charged for your next delivery. Keep in mind that we are unable to ship packages on Fridays, Saturdays, or Sundays - if one of those days are selected, the package will ship the following Monday.

Skip a shipment:

  1. Log in to your whatacrock.com account
  2. Click on "Subscriptions" and "Manage Subscription"
  3. Click "Skip Shipment" and confirm the date of your next shipment

Apply a discount to your subscription:

  1. Log in to your whatacrock.com account
  2. Click on "Subscriptions" and "Manage Subscription"
  3. Click "Apply Discount" near the bottom of the Customer Portal page
  4. Enter a valid discount code
  5. The discount will be applied to your next shipment. Keep in mind that not all What a Crock coupons may be used with a subscription.

Update the frequency you receive packages:

  1. Log in to your whatacrock.com account
  2. Click on "Subscriptions" and "Manage Subscription"
  3. Click "Delivery Schedule" and select a new interval

Send a request to ship your next shipment ASAP:

  1. Log in to your whatacrock.com account
  2. Click on "Subscriptions" and "Manage Subscription"
  3. Click on "Order Now"
  4. Our team will begin processing your shipment immediately

Cancel your subscription:

  1. Log in to your whatacrock.com account
  2. Click on "Subscriptions" and "Manage Subscription"
  3. Click on "Cancel Subscription" near the bottom of the Customer Portal. This will not cancel any active orders, so be sure to check with our support team if you are unsure.

Nutrition & Allergen

Where can I find nutrition information?

You can find nutrition information for each of our meals by viewing our Nutrition & Allergen Information Chart.

Alternatively, nutrition information is available for each product when you click on it, then click "Nutrition & Allergen Information".

Where can I find allergen information?

Our menu can be filtered by the most common allergens. You can filter by gluten-free, dairy-free, or soy-free meals.

You can find more detailed allergen and nutrition information for each of our meals by viewing our Nutrition & Allergen Information Chart.

Alternatively, allergen information is available for each product when you click on it, then click "Nutrition & Allergen Information".

Do you offer gluten-free meals?

Yes, we do offer gluten-free meals. They can be found by filtering our menu by "No Gluten", or by vising our Gluten-free collection here.
